Raven-Symone says she’s a lesbian and thankful for legalized gay marriage

Raven-Symone, who played 3-year-old Olivia on “The Cosby Show”, came out on Friday that she is a lesbian.

“I was excited to hear today that more states legalized gay marriage. I, however am not currently getting married, but it is great to know I can now, should I wish to,” she said.

Earlier on Friday, Symone tweeted, “I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you.”

Representatives of Symone stated that she is not currently looking to get married; she is just supporting the facts heard on NPR that more states legalized gay marriage.

Subsequently, Symone issued an official statement.

In the past, Symone has stated that her sexuality is a private matter. In May 2012, the actress tweeted, “My sexual orientation is mine, and the person I’m dating to know. I’m not one for a public display of my life.”
