Police officer strikes pedestrian

On Monday afternoon, a Washington, D.C. police officer in a Metropolitan Police Department SUV struck a pedestrian near the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and the L Street. Both are currently in the hospital, with the pedestrian having sustained critical injuries and the police officer non-life-threatening ones. The investigation as to the cause of the crash, still ongoing, closed roads in the area through the afternoon.
