President Donald Trump said the U.S. will support Ukraine with post-war security guarantees but ruled out sending American troops on the ground. In a Fox News interview, Trump emphasized that U.S. involvement would focus on air support and coordination with European allies, who he said are prepared to deploy forces. The pledge followed Trump’s summit with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders, where security arrangements emerged as a key topic in peace negotiations.

Trump also confirmed he called Russian President Vladimir Putin during the summit to update him on peace talks and suggest a potential meeting with Zelensky. While Trump insisted progress is possible, he reiterated his opposition to NATO membership for Ukraine and stressed that the ultimate responsibility for ending the war lies with Zelensky and Putin. European leaders welcomed signs of U.S. participation in security guarantees, but Moscow has signaled skepticism.
