Man stabbed at homeless shelter in NW D.C.

A 44-year-old man was stabbed early Wednesday inside a homeless shelter in Northwest D.C. The incident happened shortly before 1:00 a.m. at the Community for Creative Non-Violence shelter in the 400 block of Second Street NW. The victim had apparently been in a weeks-long argument with the person who stabbed him. The police report does not describe the dispute. Officers found the man suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen, and was immediately transported to an area hospital. At last check, the injuries appeared to be non-life threatening. Police issued a lookout via Twitter for a black male between 16 and 18 years old, approximately 5’11” to 6’0″ tall with dreadlocks. The young man was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans. Four people were stabbed outside the shelter in May 2014. A manager or director for the shelter could not be reached for comment.
