Man charged with kidnapping and armed robbery at Sun Trust Bank

A Maryland man has been charged with armed robbery, along with the kidnapping of a bank employee.

Forty-five-year-old Michael Patrick of Rockville, Maryland is being charged after he reportedly kidnapped a Sun Trust Bank employee at gunpoint from a parking garage on October 29.  According to police, he tied him up and put him the trunk of his car before driving to the bank.

Officials say he then forced the employee to open the bank doors with his keys before approaching another employee, taking money and fleeing the scene.

He was arrested in Washington on October 31 and was extradited to Maryland where he faced his charges.
