Agatha Award-nominee Sherry Harris released her latest book, “A Good Day to Buy” in the garage sale mystery series she has become famous for. As early as second grade, Harris had an fondness for garage sales, so when she decided to write her first mystery novel, she used her personal experience to create her signature series.
As the wife of a military veteran, she also incorporated those aspects prominently in her work. Her wit and humor is a staple throughout her books, and her husband, who is now retired, brags that her whimsy is what adds color to their marriage. He recently joked that he “inspires” Harris to which Harris replied, “Yes, Honey, you make me think about murdering someone all the time.”
In September, Harris joined the DC Spotlight Barnes and Noble Book Club in Clarendon, Virginia as our first guest author, where she shared aspects of her writing style, her books, her personal life and tips for becoming a mystery writer. The video interview below is the first of many interviews to come. Check the Barnes and Noble calendar or the DC Spotlight Barnes and Noble Book Club calendar in the newspaper to see upcoming book club events. This video event occurred on September 23, 2017.
