Evans raises money for DC mayoral bid

D.C. Councilmember Jack Evans raised about $40,000 for his mayoral campaign at a Nantucket gathering earlier this month.

Democratic fundraiser and lawyer Max Berry hosted the event. Berry said he invited those from Washington who were already vacationing on the island. Berry introduced Evans as a longtime friend and praised his work on financial issues.

According to The Washington Post, former Mayor Anthony Williams was among those in attendance at the fundraiser.
