On Thursday, it was announced that Time Magazine had chosen President-elect Donald Trump as its Person of the Year. This is the second time Trump has received this honor. Before ringing the bell, Trump stated that this was “a tremendous honor.” In his remarks, Trump promoted some of his more controversial nominees for his incoming administration, including Scott Bessent as his nominee for the Treasury.

Additionally, Trump promoted some of his policies, including his promise that the federal government would expedite permits for projects and construction worth more than $1 billion. Trump stated, “I think we’re going to have a tremendous run. We have to straighten out some problems, some big problems in the world.” Many see Time’s choice as controversial, for better or worse.
