Details emerge about Metro murder
A court document released on Tuesday details witness accounts of the Metro train stabbing on the Fourth of July that ended in the death of 24-year old Kevin Joseph Sutherland. In the case against suspect Jasper Spires, 18, witnesses say that Spires attempted to take something from Sutherland, which led to a struggle. Witnesses say that Sutherland was then punched and stabbed multiple times. A judge ruled in D.C. Superior Court Tuesday that Spires be held without bond. Sutherland was an American University graduate and interned for Connecticut Congressman Jim Himes on Capitol Hill.
