Democratic chairman of Virginia leaves job for college group

Chairman of Virginia’s Democratic Party is leaving his job for a college association to focus on party business. According to The Washington Post, Brian Moran notified his supporters of his decision in an email on Thursday night. His email said Virginia Democrats will play a critical role in this year’s elections.

Moran expects to resign from his job post with the for-profit Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities on August 1. He has been the state’s party chairman since 2010.
