Death at Echostage leads to safety survey
Many are questioning the safety of electronic dance concerts at Echostage after a 19-year-old Virginia woman overdosed on party drug MDMA at a concert there. DanceSafe, a public health organization, has released a survey for recent Echostage concertgoers, asking about temperature and overcrowding. The organization says that deaths involving MDMA are usually due to heatstroke, which makes the environment an important safety factor. The overdose incident is the second in the past two years at the D.C. club.
