D.C police have arrest a second suspect in connection with the death of a 60-year-old man in Capital Hill. Earl Patrick, 48, was charged with first-degree murder after police say he allegedly beat Carlton Coltrane to death. Patrick, and Zerrick Brown, 42, who police arrested Thursday, reportedly attacked Coltrane while he was in line buying groceries, at about 12:50 a.m. at a 7-Eleven store in the 400 block of Eighth Street, SE. Coltrane was taken to the hospital, but left before receiving treatment. Family members noticed his injuries and called an ambulance. Medical officials treated Coltrane at George Washington University Hospital and released him. Later that night, Police report Coltrane continued to have problems and died after being taken to GWU Hospital again.
