Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton’s car hit in fender bender with police
At about 9:30 a.m., a Washington, DC Metropolitan Police Department vehicle struck the gray Ford Fusion hybrid car (license plates EHN1) of Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton. Norton was driving south on 8th Street SE, not far from her home. Her car was hit on the driver’s side near the front end. Neither the police nor the congresswoman was injured.
“I certainly didn’t hear him come, or I would have stopped,” Norton stated. “My constituents came up to see if I was okay. I assured them everything was okay.” The police officer said he did have sirens on, but a spokesman for the police department, Officer A. Clay, said details about the case or who was to blame were not yet available.
