Carbon monoxide exposure sends 7 to hospital

A carbon monoxide leak at a District of Columbia elementary school led to 76 people being medically evaluated, seven of which were sent to the hospital.

D.C. Fire and EMS officials reported that children and staff at Langley Elementary School said they felt ill Thursday following the leak. The seven people taken to the hospital, four of which were students, suffered non-life threatening injuries, but were in serious condition.

The boiler leak produced high levels of carbon monoxide gas and authorities say Langley will be closed Friday.
