Alex Rodriguez causes conflict with tweet
Brian Cashman, general manager for the New York Yankees was angered by a tweet from player Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez about his recovery from a torn labrum. On Monday, Cashman explained that doctors had not cleared Rodriguez to play. On Tuesday, Rodriguez tweeted a contradictory tweet saying, “Visit from Dr. Kelly over the weekend, who gave me the best news – the green light to play games again!” Cashman responded to the news in an interview saying, “You know what, when the Yankees want to announce something, [we will]. Alex should just shut the f— up. That’s it. I’m going to call Alex now.”
On Wednesday, Cashman released an apology saying, “I regret the choice of words I used yesterday. I didn’t handle this one well.” However, according to ESPN’s Wallace Matthews, Rodriguez is not completely trusting of the New York Yankees management. Matthews said, “Alex Rodriguez believes the New York Yankees do not want him to return this season, and perhaps ever again, according to sources who spoke to ESPNNewYork.com on condition of anonymity.”
