Amtrak train collision injures 18 people

A moving Amtrak train crashed into a stationary one, leaving at least 18 people injured on both trains, according to officials. The accident occurred around 10 p.m. Wednesday at the Oakland Jack London Square Amtrak Station in northern California. The moving train had been travelling between 15 and 25 mph. It ran a red signal prior to the collision.

The conditions of the injured passengers have not yet been released. A platform and railway at the station were damaged in the crash, but the trains remained upright.
