Washington DC – 3 taken to hospital after fight breaks out in DC Jail

A fight broke out at the D.C. Central Detention Facility Thursday night, resulting in three inmates being taken to the hospital. Some of the inmates suffered cuts and puncture wounds from a homemade “shank.” According to Department of Corrections spokeswoman Sylvia Lane, all five people involved in the fight did not suffer life-threatening injuries. The Department of Corrections is currently investigating the cause of the fight.
