Modigliani painting sets record high at Christie’s

20th-century Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani set a record high in a Christie’s auction on Monday with the sale of his “Reclining Nude.” The painting, bought by Chinese billionaire Liu Yiqian for $170,405,000 is the second-highest amount ever paid for a painting at auction, coming just after Picasso’s “The Women of Algiers” that sold for $179 million earlier this year.
