Kennedy Center awards 18th annual Mark Twain Prize to Eddie Murphy

The 18th annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, regarded by most as the highest honor for a comedian, was awarded on Sunday night to Eddie Murphy. Many celebrities saluted Murphy at the hall, from Chris Rock to Dave Chappelle. “I was always struck that people weren’t more impressed by what he had done, because it was completely different characters acting together,” Daily Show host Trevor Noah said of Murphy and his role in the 1996 movie The Nutty Professor.
