A D.C. commuter bus caught fire while in transit Wednesday morning. No one inside the bus was harmed. The fire occurred around 7:10 a.m. on the Inner Loop of the Capital Beltway at Kenilworth Avenue, and it and emergency vehicles stopped one lane of traffic until around 9:00 a.m. Delays stretched for several miles until 9:30 a.m. Mark Brady, spokesman for Prince George’s County Fire and EMS, gave a statement that the fire started in the rear of the bus, and that investigators suspect it began in the brake system.
