A man’s body was discovered in a park along the Anacostia River Monday while searchers were looking for missing 8-year-old Relisha Rudd. Police from Prince George’s County will determine if the remains are those of Kahlil Malik Tatum, who is wanted on a murder charge for killing his wife, and the last person Relisha was seen with. They have not ruled out that the girl is dead and are describing the search in the park as a recovery operation. Tatum and Rudd were last seen together on March 1, although Tatum hasn’t been seen since March 20, when his wife was found dead in a hotel in Oxon Hill. According to police, Tatum was seen entering the park after purchasing a carton of 42-gallon trash bags. Both dive teams and search and rescue teams have joined forces with D.C. police, fire recruits, and the FBI to help comb the park and gardens. The search started on Thursday and continued over the weekend.
