Reports to be released on death near fire station

The District of Columbia government will be releasing their internal investigation of the death of Medric Cecil Mills, who collapsed near a D.C. fire station and didn’t receive care from anyone working there. Mills died after going into a cardiac arrest in a shopping center parking lot last month. Mills’ relatives say several people went across the street to the fire station but no firefighters or emergency workers offered to help. D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray called the incident “an outrage.” City officials stated they could not discipline anyone until the investigation was finished. The lieutenant who supervised that station and another firefighter were placed on administrative leave and the lieutenant has filed for retirement.
