7 fall ill in Baltimore group home

Seven people have been taken to local area hospitals after falling ill at a Parkville group home. Paramedics were called to the home for intellectually challenged men on Sunday night after a report of an unconscious man.

The man was taken to an area hospital, but paramedics were sent back to the home on Monday when several other residents became sick. Six were taken to area hospitals.

The fire department’s hazardous materials team as well as the Maryland Department of the Environment are investigating the air in the home in order to determine what made people sick.

No foul play is suspected, but officials are concerned about whether a mixture of chemicals or pesticides caused the problem.
