Wisconsin man opens fire in a spa, killing three

Radcliffe Haughton, age 45, entered the Azana Salon & Spa in Brookfield Wisconsin at about 11:15 am, and began shooting. His wife Zina, who worked at the spa, was shot dead along with three other women. Four others were wounded. Haughton had recently been issued a restraining order after allegedly slashing his wife’s tires. Hostage negotiators, FBI agents, and Swat team police were dispatched to the scene. The first officers on the scene found the building on fire, a fire apparently ignited by Haughton. Haughton was found in one of the spa’s locked rooms, dead of an apparent self-inflicted gun shot. The White House responded to the shooting by issuing a statement that the thoughts and prayers of the President and First Lady were with the victims and their families. Governor Scott Walker also extended his condolences, saying that “senseless acts of violence leave us with heavy hearts and many questions.” This is the second mass shooting in Wisconsin this year.
