Stephen King donates to Maine’s gun coalition
Author Stephen King and his wife have made a donation to a Maine group advocating for stricter gun laws. King claims the donation was “five figures” but did not specify exactly how much he donated.
The Coalition for a safer Maine says that King is a gun owner and a supporter of the second amendment, but that he also supports extended background checks for gun purchases and a ban on high-capacity ammunition magazines.
After the shooting in Newton, CT, King wrote a best selling e-book called “Guns”, which detailed his thoughts on gun control and gun rights.
This week, the Maine Legislature is considering several gun control bills.
