Sisters of slain Connecticut woman question police use of force

The sisters of the woman who was killed by D.C. police Thursday following an intense car chase through the nation’s capital are disputing claims that she was delusional.

The sisters of Miriam Carey, Valerie Carey and Amy Carey-Jones, sat down for an interview on NBC’s “Today” show to speak on behalf of their slain sister.

There have been reports circulating that the woman, who was aggressively driving with her 1-year-old daughter in the back seat, had delusions of President Barack Obama trying to communicate with her. On this subject Valerie Carey commented, “She was not walking around delusional, which is what we really want the public to understand.”

Amy Carey-Jones said, “I feel that things could have been handled a lot differently. We still feel that there was maybe another story than what we’re being told.”

The two sisters’ lawyer, Eric Sanders, questions the method by which the police handled the situation.

The entire incident and deadly use of force is still under investigation in Washington.
