Shooting leaves man dead near elementary school

A shooting near a District of Columbia elementary school has left one man dead.

Authorities arrived on the scene around 3:30 a.m. Friday morning after receiving reports of gunfire near Nalle Elementary School. The victim was taken to a local hospital with multiple gunshot wounds to his head and upper body. He was later pronounced dead.

Several nearby vehicles were also damaged by the gunfire and a firearm was discovered next to the victim’s body.
