POLITICS NEWS – Donald Trump names border security nominee

Laila Kirkpatrick, Staff Writer

President-elect Donald Trump has named Rodney Scott to lead Customs and Border Protection. It was announced on Thursday that Scott would continue to oversee the agency. Customs and Border Protection is one of the largest law enforcement agencies in the country, with 60,000-plus employees and over 300 points of entry to manage.

Given Trump’s previous administration’s immigration policies and his statements on the campaign trail, it is clear that any new immigration policies will be stringent. Scott has previously served as Chief of Customs and Border Protection under both Trump and Biden. So far, he is one of the few nominees to have served in executive roles under presidents from different parties.
