Police investigate 4 shooting, 2 fatal
Police are investigating four shootings, two of which have been fatal, in different parts of the city.
Shorty before 2 a.m. on Saturday, an 18-year-old man was shot in the chest in the Columbia Heights neighborhood. He was taken to the hospital by a private vehicle where he died.
D.C. Councilmember Jim Graham has identified the man as Anthony Sanchez, who was a ward of the Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services.
Around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, police say two men were shot in Southeast Washington. One of the men, 30-year-old Derrick Scott, later died.
Two other shootings occurred early on Saturday and resulted in non life-threatening injuries.
