NY man sentenced for Va. Bank robbery and gun crime

Phillip D. Bosket, 47, of New York, has been sentenced to 21 years and 10 months in prison for robbing a Virginia bank and brandishing a gun during a violent crime. According to federal authorities, Bosket was sentenced Tuesday during U.S. District Court in Norfolk. He had plead guilty in December. Bosket attempted to rob a Norfolk credit union but his attempt was unsuccessful when stopped by a security guard. Several weeks later he robbed a Portsmouth bank at gunpoint, leading police on a high speed chase that ended when he crashed into a building in Virginia Beach.
