No charges filed for Kanye West in LAX paparazzi scuffle
Rapper Kanye West will not face felony charges after being accused of attacking a photographer at Los Angeles International Airport. West, however, is still not completely off the hook.
On Friday, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said it is declining to prosecute the rapper, but his case will go to the city attorney for possible misdemeanor charges.
The incident occurred on July 19, where West scuffled with a member of the paparazzi who waited at the airport to take celebrity photos. Videos show the rapper lunging at the photographer’s camera and trying to take it away.
Prosecutors say the photographer had no significant injuries and whether the camera is damaged is unknown. No weapon was used, and West does not have a felony record.
