New bills delay Obamacare
Two bills were passed by the House of Representatives on Wednesday, postponing two requirements of Obamacare. The first bill delays the provision making employers provide healthcare. The other bill postponed the order for individuals to sign up for health care coverage. Both provisions were postponed for a year.
Many Republicans disagreed with the president instructing individuals to sign up for healthcare or face penalties. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor said, “Why is it that working Americans have to suffer the financial burdens of an overreaching government-run health care system while the same consequences for big business are delayed a year?” The Obama administration has threatened to veto both bills.
