NATIONAL NEWS – Harvard University sues the Trump administration in defiant move

Harvard University has launched a lawsuit against the Trump administration, setting up an enormous legal battle between the president’s administration and one of America’s most prestigious universities. Harvard is suing over academic freedom, federal funding, and campus oversight. The Trump administration has frozen federal funds and will likely end up at the Supreme Court.

The nation’s oldest university has become a symbol of resistance against the Trump administration and its attempts to control elements of higher education framed as a fight against anti-semitism. Harvard has claimed that the White House is trying to control the Harvard community.

Trump has already rolled back DEI initiatives, arrested international students, revoked visas, and frozen federal funding for schools that did not comply with their demands. Harvard said that the current administration has cut federal funds as a way to try to gain leverage over the administration and force it to submit to governmental control.
