Donald Sutherland, the renowned Canadian actor, passed away on June 20 at the age of 88 in Miami, Florida. Sutherland had a prolific career spanning six decades, earning accolades such as a Primetime Emmy Award and two Golden Globe Awards. Despite being considered one of the best actors never nominated for an Academy Award, he received an honorary Oscar in 2017.

Sutherland is celebrated for his roles in films such as “The Dirty Dozen,” “MASH,” “Klute,” and “The Hunger Games” series, where he played President Snow. His work in television included an Emmy-winning performance in “Citizen X.” Sutherland leaves behind a legacy not only through his extensive filmography but also through his children, including actor Kiefer Sutherland. He was honored with numerous awards throughout his life, including inductions into both the Canadian and Hollywood Walk of Fame​
