Mother of baby found dead charged with neglect

Samantha Warden, 29, has been arrested on a warrant charging her with felony child neglect after her infant son was found dead in Pulaski County. On Wednesday night Warden was arrested at her home in Campbell County. Her fiance’, Howard Cole, was earlier charged with child abuse after 5-month-old Cory Cole was reported missing on January 29. The baby’s body was found in a wooded area two weeks ago. Warden was held without bond on Thursday at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail and it is not known whether or not she has an attorney yet. Additional charges could be possible once an autopsy report is complete.
