Feds charge Philadelphia congressman Chaka Fattah with corruption

U.S. Rep. Chaka Fattah has been accused by federal investigators of paying a campaign loan with charitable donations and federal grants, using campaign money to pay his son’s student loan, accepting bribery, and more. He has not been arrested and no initial court date has been set. His wife has also been accused of helping him disguise a bribe as a car sale. Two of his former aides have been involved in the case and have pleaded guilty to charges relating to Fattah’s campaign debt. His son is also awaiting trial in a related case involving charges that he misspent $930,000 in federal education funding. Fattah is the third federal lawmaker to be indicted on corruption charges in recent times.
