Early voters appear during special election
D.C. election officials claim nearly 2,900 people voted early in Tuesday’s special election. Voters are in the process of electing someone to fill an open at-large seat on the D.C. Council. They are also voting on a charter that could give the city more control over its municipal budget.
Of those who voted, 2,424 were Democrats, 255 were non-party affiliates, and 215 were Republicans. The candidates for the open seat include four Democrats, one Republican, and a D.C. Green Party candidate.
