‘Devious Maids’ heading to Lifetime in 2013

The Lifetime channel is picking up a new series from the creator of “Desperate Housewives.” The channel announced Friday it has ordered 13 episodes of “Devious Maids,” a show about maids working for Beverly Hills’ rich and famous residents. Marc Cherry will produce the series, while “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria takes on the role of executive producer.

“Devious Maids,” which is based on a Mexican telenovela, will include roles played by Ana Ortiz, Judy Reyes, Grant Show and Susan Lucci. Lifetime plans to debut the series in 2013.
