D.C. public schools principal turnover continues
The attrition of principals at Washington, D.C. public schools is reportedly higher than some suburban school districts in the Metro area. According to The Washington Post, at least 17 school leadership jobs will change this year at D.C. schools, which is about 14 percent of the system’s principal posts.
The Post reports the attrition is not as high as it was under the leadership of former schools Chief Michelle Rhee, but remains high compared to area school districts. The principal turnover in Washington has resulted from resignations, terminations, retirements, or other issues.
