D.C. man convicted of killing mother

A Washington man has been convicted of killing his mother and attacking his younger brother.

Christopher Martin pleaded insanity during trial, but a D.C. Superior Court jury rejected the claim and found him guilty on all charges on Thursday.

Martin stabbed his mother in May of 2010. He covered her body in blankets and left her to decompose inside a hot and locked apartment. Martin’s younger brother was able to escape out a window after being beaten by his brother. After he escaped, he told a neighbor what his brother had done.

Martin is scheduled to be sentenced on August 30th.
