Campus police officer fatally shoots student

A student at Liberty University was shot and killed by a campus police officer around 4:15 a.m. Tuesday.

The shooting victim was identified as 19-year-old Joshua Hathaway from Lubbock, Texas.

The Lynchburg Police Department is continuing their investigation into the incident that reportedly took place following a “physical altercation” with the male student at the women’s-only dormitory off-campus.
