Ariel Winters to remain with adult sister for time being

Teenage actress Ariel Winters, costar of the hit TV series “Modern Family,” will remain in the custody of her adult sister until the trial which will determine where she will stay permanently. The trial will be centered on allegations against the actress’ mother of abusing her. Winters has accused her mother of “on-going physical abuse such as slapping, hitting, pushing, etc., and emotional abuse like vile name-calling and personal insults about the actress’ weight. She also claims her mother deliberately deprived her of food in order to sexualize her. Her mother, Chrisoula Workman, was temporarily stripped of custody of her daughter on October 3 and moved to live with her sister. Her adult sister, Shanelle Gray, was also removed from Chrisoula Workman’s care in the 1990s amid accusations of abuse.
