Amanda Bynes still in hospital; mother to take over control

While Amanda Bynes remains under medical care, her mother, Lynn, will take legal control over Bynes’ person and estate.

The 27-year-old actress was placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold in late July after she was involved in a disturbance in a residential neighborhood. The hold was initially for 72 hours, but on July 25, a judge ordered that Bynes remain there for an additional two weeks.

While this was taking place, Bynes’ parents filed for conservatorship of their daughter, who has been exhibiting bizarre behavior as of late. In a hearing on Friday, a judge with the Superior Court of California granted her parents’ request for conservatorship.

Bynes’ mother now has the ability to decide her daughter’s basic needs, including where she should live. Lynn also now has control over her daughter’s $3 million in savings.
