Demonstrators gathered throughout Washington, D.C. to protest the Trump administration’s actions including his immigration policy, rollback of transgender rights, and his recent proposal to forcibly transfer Palestinians from the Gaza street. Protests held up signs denouncing  Trump and his ally Elon Musk. Protestors voiced their concerns about Trump’s administration being a breach of presidential powers. Protests like this have become a common occurrence in cities across the country.

Many of these protests have been the result of a movement that was organized under the hashtags Build the Resistance and 50501. The hashtag 50501 stands for 50 states 50 protests one day. Websites and social media accounts have helped to share these messages and post call-to-action posts with messages like “reject fascism” and “defend our democracy.”  Many members of Congress have expressed their issues with the DOGE department created by Elon Musk. Doge has cut numerous federal employees in an attempt to promote efficiency in the government.
