WASHINGTON, D.C. – Video of beaten Marine proves allegations

Christopher Marquez, a decorated Marine, told police that he was eating by himself on Friday night when he was approached by a group of teens and young adults, and then beaten in a racially motivated attack. Marquez claimed that the group asked him if he thought, “Black lives matter,” and then beat him and stole his wallet after he ignored their comments. While police were unsure whether the claims Marquez made were true, a video has recently been released proving some of the Marine’s allegations. The video lacks sound, so police cannot comment on whether the attack was actually racially motivated.
