WASHINGTON, D.C. – Lincoln Memorial to be refurbished

Philanthropist David Rubenstein has donated an $18 million gift to refurbish the Lincoln Memorial. Rubenstein has already donated tens of millions of dollars to fix other significant landmarks, like the Washington Monument. Some minor repairs have already been made to the decaying monument. The National Parks Service is seeking to utilize the large gift to restore the monument to its original state.
