Residents startled by bomb tech training program

Loudon County residents may have been surprised to hear explosions Thursday. The blasts were part of a training program held by the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation for bomb technicians, and ran from 8 a.m. to noon. Demolitions took place at the Chantilly Crushed Stone quarry on Route 50. The explosions were a test, and were not meant to alarm anyone.
