Woman charged for attack on Metro bus driver

According to police, a woman has been charged with assaulting a bus driver. The assault occurred after the woman boarded the X2 bus at Gallery Place in downtown Washington on Wednesday night.

The bus driver continued his route afterwards, but once he reached the 300 block of Benning Road, the woman went after the driver again as she was leaving the bus. The bus driver defended himself this time, striking the woman in the face.

Police were called to the scene and arrested the 18-year-old woman. The bus driver was not charged, and it is still unclear as to why the woman attacked him.
