Paula Deen dropped by Wal-Mart
After a teary interview on the “Today” show on Wednesday, Wal-Mart as well as four buffet restaurants stripped Deen’s name from their merchandise.
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said on Wednesday that it ended its relationship with Deen and will not place “any new orders beyond what’s already committed”.
Caesar’s Entertainment Corp. said it had been “mutually decided” with Deen to remove her name from its four restaurants in Joliet, IL, Tunica, MI, Cherokee, NC, and Elizabeth, IN.
There also seems to be a backlash approaching against the Food Network, as Deen’s representative released letters of support from nine companies who plan to continue to work with her.
Deen has also approached Rev. Jesse Jackson for help. He has agreed to help the cook, saying she should not become a sacrificial lamb over the issue of racial intolerance.
The Food Channel, a marketing agency out of Springfield, MO says it has been swarmed with angry message from those confusing it with the Food Network. There has been so many messages, that the agency has written to Deen expressing interest in working with her if possible.
