Judge denies travel request made by Kwame Brown
A federal judge has denied a request made by former Councilmember Kwame Brown to travel out of state. Brown requested to travel to North Carolina next month to attend his nephew’s graduation ceremony. Brown was turned down by U.S. District Judge Richard Leon.
Brown was convicted of bank fraud and is currently serving a home detention sentence. Brown faced charges concerned with lying about his income on two loan payments, which he used to buy a powerboat. Brown resigned from office last June after pleading guilty to all charges.
